Lesson 1:
Warmer: Students (Ss) will be asked to watch the video "Climate change (according to a kid)" T will ask students to pay attention and remember what are the main causes of greenhouse gases to discuss all together.
Web: Ss will be asked to read this article on "What is global climate change?" so they get a better grasp on what climate change is about. Then, they will talk about what things they see every day that affect our world. Then they will complete a short Match the sentences activity.
What's next?: Ss will complete the five questions on this activity on Quizizz all together to check if they have understood the topic.
Lesson 2:
Topic: Climate change
Year: 5th year
Duration: 40 minutes
Pattern of interaction: groups
Once they have understood what climate change is, we are going to work on what we can do to change it.
Warmer: First the students will be asked to watch this video on the harsh consequences of climate change, then they will be asked about how the video made them feel. They will write down their thoughts.
Web: Then they will be asked to read the following text obtained from this Climate Reality Project article. Then they will discuss in groups about which of these (if any) they're already applying in their lives.
What's next: Students will make posters portraying what are the best things people can do at their own homes to help our planet.

ReplyDeleteGreat lessons, they are clear and follow the WWW format properly! I would add something in the web section of Lesson 2. Maybe they could have a debate about the info they've read or make a mind map or a poster. Also, I would add the references of the videos.
